Rod Pilon Transport is a 100% Australian owned family business.
Established in 1972, the company has grown from a one truck operation to a nationwide business which now operates a large fleet of vehicles and has 116 employees.
Our fleet consists of 50+ prime movers, table top trucks and utes with 150+ trailers — taut liners, flat tops, step-downs, extendible, container skels, container side loader and with our four rows of eight float and dolly, means we can meet your transport requirements up to 100tonne. The fleet provides a comprehensive transport service between our Rod Pilon Transport depots and affiliated depots covering the eastern seaboard. With our road train service to Perth and Adelaide Rod Pilon Transport is truly Australia wide.
Our transport operations are complemented by our warehouse and storage complexes.
The steady growth of our company has been the result of hard work over the years. Rod Pilon provides a professional quality transport service, to ensure continued satisfaction for all our customers.
History
In the 1970’s Roddy Pilon was driving trucks for another company with big dreams to build his own business. With Hard work and determination Rod Pilon Transport was founded by Roddy in Dubbo NSW in 1972.
1975 saw the expansion of Rod Pilon Transport to include road trains. The road train routes saw Rod Pilon Transport leave NSW and thus began the expansion to be a nation wide business. During the early years there were many a road train trip to Darwin taking much needed supplies north for the rebuid after cyclone Tracy. With establishing a name for a reliable freight service movement also saw a road train route to Perth.
Both these road train routes are still covered by Rod Pilon Transport today on an as needed basis. The major road train routes now driven are from Dubbo through to Mount Isa and Broken hill. With the mining industry requiring a reliable service these routes are covered weekly by 2 to 3 road trains.
